Bourke’s annual Festival of a Thousand Stories gears up again for it’s early September storytelling, poetry and music. The event kicks off with a ‘mini-music festival at the wharf in Bourke with locals and invited guests all sharing the stage for a few songs. After Poets Brekkie and Markets on Saturday morning, guests can enjoy…

“If you know Bourke, You know Australia” – that was the poet’s claim,
Still there’s much about the place that is unknown just the same,
So we’re talking to the locals, in their home and at their work,
To try and find just what it is you know – If you know Bourke !”
